1HR sends you one text message when your roll of film finishes developing: a private link to view and download your photos. Messages are transactional and happen only because you submit a roll. No marketing, ever.
Opt-in happens inside the 1HR iOS app. When you finish a roll and go to send it to the lab, the app shows a mobile-number field with this exact disclosure directly above the Send to Lab button:
"Enter your mobile number to get one text when your photos are ready. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."
You type your own mobile number and tap Send to Lab. That is your opt-in to receive a transactional text about that order. Here is exactly what that screen looks like:
